Dr. Chris Booth Assumes Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association Presidency

booth-001Chris Booth, DVM assumed the Presidency of the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA) at the WVMA 98th Annual Convention on Friday, Oct. 11. He will serve as president for one year.

"The WVMA needs to continue be proactive in leading the animal welfare discussion with the public and addressing legislative and public policy issues affecting our profession," Dr. Booth states. Dr. Booth also envisions the WVMA continuing its role in improving food safety and providing tools and resources that enable financial viability in the future for our members.

Dr. Booth graduated with from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He is an owner of Dairy Doctors Veterinary Services – a five veterinarian practice located in Plymouth, Wis. focusing on providing the best possible animal health care and production medicine services while fostering a rewarding and profitable environment for clients and their families.

Within the WVMA Dr. Booth has served on numerous committees including Public Health and Food Safety, and Large Animal Welfare. He has participated in the American Veterinary Medical Association Emerging Leaders Conference, the National Holstein Foundation's Young Dairy Leaders Institute, and the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin Manager's Academy. Currently, Dr. Booth serves on the Sheboygan County Holstein Association Board of Directors and is a state junior advisor for the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association.

Dr. Booth and his wife, Courtney, currently reside in Plymouth with their four children
