This Oncology CE course will focus on providing technicians with an understanding of how common cancers are diagnosed, treated and their outcomes. What you learn may surprise you! Other sessions will focus on best practices for handling and administering chemotherapy, as well as recognizing and managing common chemotherapy side effects. Attendees will also learn how to recognize cytologic markers of malignancy and some of the more common cancers. Finally technicians will join the general practitioner group for a 1-hour clinical case discussion. During that time, every participant is encouraged to share their own personal cases, especially the interesting, frustrating and challenging ones, to be discussed with the UW Oncology group. A program for general practitioners will run in parallel with the technician’s program.
