Diagnostic Case and Outreach Coordinator Veterinarian

The Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory seeks a clinically-oriented veterinarian who has experience working with large animals and an understanding of Wisconsin agribusiness, particularly the dairy industry. The successful candidate will work with a team of veterinarians to provide diagnostic test interpretation, herd management consultation, continuing education and outreach to our clients. Opportunities for teaching and collaboration with large animal veterinarians at the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine will also be available to the successful individual. Clinical Veterinarian
Full Time / Madison, WI

We have a great opportunity for a Clinical Veterinarian to join our team in Madison, WI. This role provides laboratory animal medical and surgical care by examination, treatment and advice to ensure adequate and humane veterinary support. This role: ► Assist supervisor to ensure that company policies and practices regarding animal care and welfare are in compliance with relevant regulations ► Assist in training of staff including externship program participants ► Serve on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee as needed ► Perform physical examinations of laboratory animals as indicated in protocols and SOP ► Perform ophthalmic or other veterinary examinations on laboratory animals ► Report all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary What we’re looking for in you: ► Graduate of AVMA accredited veterinary school or equivalent ► 1 year of veterinary clinical experience preferred ► For USA positions only: must have a veterinary license in at least one state and ability to obtain a license and USDA accreditation in Wisconsin within 6 months ► Knowledge of small and large animals used in research ► Must be able to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals Why people choose to work at Covance At Covance, it’s our people that make us great – it’s what our clients, our partners and, most importantly, what our employees say.
