Full Time Veterinary Technician

Country Veterinary Clinic of Rubicon WI. is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our 3.5 Doctor, 4 Technician animal practice. This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays and rotating Saturdays 8 am to 1 pm are required.

Candidates must have knowledge in the following areas: lab work, pharmacy duties, radiology, surgical assistance, dentistry, monitoring of patience, maintaining anesthetized patients, restraint, maintaining client files answering the telephone and making appointments. Candidates must also possess computer knowledge of Cornerstone (a plus but will train), excellent customer service, communication skills and be flexible to assist as needed in other areas.

Benefits offered are a 3% employer match 401K retirement, compensation for Licensure, discounts for pet care, compensation for CE registration and paid vacation.

Pay depends on level of experience.

Veterinary Technician

PT /Milwaukee , WI

Come join our team at Layton Animal Hospital! Part time position with negotiable hours with rotating Saturday mornings. No holidays. Working interview required. You must have excellent communication skills, so that you can interact with pet owners and coworkers. You must have an understanding of animal behavior and strong clinical skills in order to properly evaluate an animal’s condition and provide treatment. You must be detail-oriented and well-organized so that you may take medical histories, carry out instructions, document patient statistics and update records. Computer proficiency is expected as there is a physical and electronic file for every pet/client. It’s also essential that you enjoy working with animals and have the ability to comfort, handle and restrain mainly dogs and cats.
We are seeking a candidate that can assist veterinarians in the care of animals. You may perform an initial evaluation of the animal’s condition, blood draws, clean and wrap wounds, check vital statistics, develop non-digital radiography, collect samples and administer vaccines/medication. You may also perform basic lab work, including urinalysis/catheter placement, fecal and blood tests, and may assist with procedures such as teeth cleaning and other surgeries. Surgical assistance includes: dental prophylaxis, anesthesia (induction, monitor, and recovery). You would help during patient examinations and surgical procedures by restraining animals when necessary, filling prescriptions, sterilizing instruments and ensuring that equipment is in working order. You will also communicate with pet owners and update patient files.

Instructional Specialist Academic Staff

The Department of Pathobiological Sciences seeks candidates for an instructional specialist to join our instructional team in the veterinary medical curriculum. The selected candidate will support laboratory courses (Bacteriology and Mycology, Parasitology, Immunology, and Clinical and Anatomic Pathology) by maintaining microscopes, slide sets, microbiological cultures, parasite preparations, setting up lab exercises, answering student questions, etc.
Support for laboratory and non-laboratory courses (e.g., Virology, Epidemiology) will include organizing and maintaining course learning management systems (e.g., Learn@UW, Canvas, AEFIS course evaluations). Duties will include posting course notes and other materials, pdf versions of Powerpoint lectures, on-line quizzes or other assessment tools, and supporting faculty activities as needed.
A strong background in veterinary microbiology, immunology or parasitology is desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates should enjoy working in a collaborative manner and have the ability to multi-task and respond to changing instructional needs.
